How does it work

You reserve a Woodbridge Dairy Farm half beef with a $500 non-refundable deposit. Once a deposit is placed, we reserve one of our beef cattle for you, that will go into a USDA butrcher and processor (Caledonia Packing) in November. The beef will be processed and vaccumed sealed into idiviual packaging for your freezer convince. Once we have the hang weight from your beef and the processing cost you will be send a finally invoice (minus the deposit). This process takes about 2 to 3 week to complete. Once the invoice is paid, we will schedule a date and time for you to pick up your meat at Woodbridge Dairy Farm. (For June 2026 processing cost was $1.80 per hang pound, this includes the slaughter, processing/packaging and environmental fee. Additional processing fees can accure for extras like grinding, patties, and extra cutting.)

Pricing the beef

This deposit will sercure your purchase of a half of beef at $8.00 per hang pound in 2026 (this includes the basic processors cost, any extras will be added in your invoice). Our grass-fed whole beef usually has a hang weight ranging from 400 to 600 pounds, resulting in a take home product weight of 50-70% depending on the cutting instruction you give.

Freezer space needed

This half a beef can be tightly tucked into 8 to 10 cubic feet of space, but 14 to 16 cubic feet will allow for better organization.

Customization and Fulfillment

Our processing date for 2026 is in November. We will contact you a couple weeks prior to the harvest date, and pass on your cutting instuctions to Caledonia Packing. You will pick up your finished beef at Woodbridge Dairy Farm when it’s ready.
