Biscuit & Gravy Casserole

biscuit & gravy casserole

Great for a Sunday brunch or a holiday breakfast.

Simple and filling, serve it with fruit for a full breakfast.

INGREDIENTS

  • butter or cooking spay for the pan

  • 1 can (10 ounce) of refrigerated biscuit dough ( I used Pillsbury Grands.)

  • 1 lb. ground pork sausage (Woodbridge breakfast sauage)

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided

  • 6 large eggs

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 - 2 package white gravy mix ( I used Pioneer peppered gravy mix) or homemade white gravy works too.

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and Grease a 9x13 baking pan.

  • Line the bottom of the prepared baking pan with biscuits.

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir sausage in the hot skillet until brown and crumbles, 5 to 7 minutes; drain.

  • Sprinkle sausage over biscuit layer and top with 1 cup of cheddar cheese.

  • Whisk eggs, milk, salt and pepper together in a bowl, pour over cheese layer.

  • Make gravy (homemade or by package directions)

  • Pour gravy over egg layer and top with remaining 1/2 cup cheese.

  • Bake 30 - 40 minutes until eggs are fluffy and biscuits are done.

Enjoy!
