Biscuit & Gravy Casserole
Great for a Sunday brunch or a holiday breakfast.
Simple and filling, serve it with fruit for a full breakfast.
INGREDIENTS
butter or cooking spay for the pan
1 can (10 ounce) of refrigerated biscuit dough ( I used Pillsbury Grands.)
1 lb. ground pork sausage (Woodbridge breakfast sauage)
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
6 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
salt and pepper to taste
1 - 2 package white gravy mix ( I used Pioneer peppered gravy mix) or homemade white gravy works too.
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350°F and Grease a 9x13 baking pan.
Line the bottom of the prepared baking pan with biscuits.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir sausage in the hot skillet until brown and crumbles, 5 to 7 minutes; drain.
Sprinkle sausage over biscuit layer and top with 1 cup of cheddar cheese.
Whisk eggs, milk, salt and pepper together in a bowl, pour over cheese layer.
Make gravy (homemade or by package directions)
Pour gravy over egg layer and top with remaining 1/2 cup cheese.
Bake 30 - 40 minutes until eggs are fluffy and biscuits are done.
Enjoy!
