Hot Ham and Cheese Buns

Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb. butter (room temperature)

  • 1 Tbsp. mustard

  • 1 Tbsp. onion, finely chopped

  • 1 Tbsp. poppy seed (optional)

  • 1/2 of a Ham Slice, thinly sliced agains the grain

  • Sliced swiss cheese (or cheese of your choosing)

  • Package of dinner buns (I like the Hawaiian rolls)

Directions (pre-heat oven to 350°F)

  1. Mix butter, {poppy seed} and onions in bowl.

  2. Cut buns and lay bottom half in greased baking pan.

  3. Spread butter mixture on the cut surface of the buns.

  4. Layer the thinly sliced ham on the bottom buns and then the cheese.

  5. Place the top layer of buns on the cheese. If I have extra butter, I melt it and brush the top of the buns.

  6. Cover with aluminum foil.

  7. Place in 350°F oven for 20 minutes, or until the ham is heated thru and the cheese is melted.
